Healthy Fats & Why They’re Good for Your

Genesis 45:18 and take your father and your households, and come to me, and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat the fat of the land.

Fat has been unnecessarily misaligned since the early 1980’s. Since the start of our “Low Fat Diet” craze our health has suffered, disease has increased and our weight has ballooned.

Back in the early part of the last century (1900’s), the following was frequently recommended for chronic disease such as tuberculosis:

  • Bed rest
  • Isolation
  • Sunlight
  • Exercise
  • High fat diet

Our bodies need fat for hormone production, cell membrane health, nerve conduction, and transportation of nutrients through the blood.

God has made wonderful fats that are nourishing and healthy to our bodies and can be found in:

  • Butter
  • Olive Oil
  • Coconut Oil
  • Palm Oil

These oils do not require heat to produce and are anti–inflammatory, therefore they are nourishing to our bodies!

Fats that require heat to be produced are:

  • Canola
  • Vegetable
  • Safflower
  • Sesame
  • Sunflower
  • Margarine and spreads–one molecule away from plastic!

These fats are considered to be Omega-6 fatty acids and are commonly found in restaurant cooking and processed foods. These are the most damaging pro-inflammatory fats.

We become sick and unhealthy when our body becomes unbalanced. God’s intention of fat ratio is 1:1 or 2:1 of Omega-6 fatty acids to Omega-3 fatty acids. Our current ratio is closer to 20:1 of Omega-6 fatty acids to Omega-3 fatty acids, the consequences of this imbalance result in:

  • Arterial damage and disease
  • Improper hormone balance
  • Dementia/Alzheimer’s
  • Heart disease
  • Inflammation
  • Propagation of cancer
  • Stroke

Omega-3 fats are found in cold water fish:

  • Salmon Oil
  • Sardines
  • Tuna
  • Herring
  • Sardines
  • Anchovies

Health benefits of Omega-3 fats:

  • Reduces Inflammation
  • Reduces triglycerides
  • Cancer protective
  • Lowers joint pain
  • Nourishes the brain
  • Reduces the symptoms of depression
  • Myelin sheath development

The more fat you consume the more satisfied you will feel, and the less you will eat.
